Christmas
@ 2008-12-13 – 21:51:52
On the 3rd December we finished brownies with a party.
On the 6th December i took the brownies to Sheringham to see Father Christmas, we caught a steam train, which was wonderfully decorated, all the adults were served with sherry and warm mince pies and the children with Juice and santa chocolate, there was also a clown who did balloon modelling on the train. Then we arrived at Weybourne, we passed through an animated grotto to see Father Christmas and they got fantastic presents, we caught the train back and everyone got a cracker, a fantastic trip.On the 11th December the brownies took part in a carol service organised by the Masons.
On the 12th December i attended a Light a Life carol service, where you light a candle in memory of a loved one, it was very moving, i lit a candle in memory of my beloved Nan and Grandad, and i wrote their names in the memory book. It is 10yrs this year since she passed away, i miss her so much.
I have found this week hard, my knee has been sore, i am not feeling too good, and i am very depressed, basically i am mentally and physically in pieces.

Jacksons 1938-2008
@ 2008-12-03 – 10:02:22
On Saturday 25th of October, Jacksons the shoe people celebrated 70 years in business by having a day of 1940's memorabilia and nostalgia.
The customers were treated to a glass of ginger beer, cake and some old fashioned sweets and 1940's music. Jowett Flying Fix named 'PLUG' was parked outside, kindly loaned for the day by Stuart Grant, drawing lots of admiring glances from passers by.
Me and Debbie and staff were dressed in 1940's costume and Kira provided an authentic shoe shine service and raised £55.87 for Children in Need.
We had a prize draw for anyone born in 1938 and they won a visit to our chiropodist and a pair of shoes upto £50.

So So Busy
@ 2008-12-03 – 09:57:21
I have not been keeping this upto date, as i should do, my intension was to make an entry per week, but time keeps running away with me, i will try better, i hope.
This has been another terrible year, i am working hard, have had a lot of problems this year again, it is also 10 years in October since my beloved Nan died, i miss her every day, especially between October and Christmas.
I have had a lot of guiding meetings to go to, which i love, but i don't enjoy all the travelling, i often travel to the other side of Norwich which is about 1.5 hours away, to clarify that makes a 3 hour round trip.
In 2010, Girlguiding celebrates its centenary and I am on the Girlguding Norfolk Centenary Committee, to go with being Girlguiding Norfolk County PR and 1st Hunstanton Brown Owl.
Tonight is my last Brownie Meeting and we are having a party night, On Saturday we are going to Sheringham to catch a steam train to go to Weybourne to see Santa.
Sophie my grandaughter is 8 and she suffers from severe verbal dyspraxia and so in September she started Ethel Tipple Special Needs School in Kings Lynn, she is also one of my Brownies. This year there has been a lot of behavioural problems with Sophie, but i am convinced it is her frustration at not being able to make people understand.
My oldest grandaughter Kira, is quite a street wise madam, and she is so loving towards me, she has kept my head above water in my darkest hours.
Dylan my grandson is 2, and a joy to behold, he is just great fun, and everything is an exciting adventure.
Bob started Calendar Club in October, it is not doing as well as previous years, but it is now improving quite considerably.
I regularly go to see Michelle who does a manicure and pedicure for me once a month, we talk a lot and she listens, she is another person who has helped me when things were so bad, and i was having difficulty, i told her things i would never tell anyone else, i don't know what possessed me, i just needed to talk i guess, she has been constantly texting me, which has made me feel better, it is also teaching me how to text properly i am not good at texting cos i don't text much, just answer questions usually.
I have had a lot of back and knee pain this year, which i have no known what to do with, i am afraid my knee pain might be the beginning of arthritis as my Gran and Dad suffer from it, i thought it might be that. However, Bob says i fell down stairs and hurt my knee and back, but the worrying thing is i have no recollection of this, so either he is imagining things, or i have a mental block. The pain has been excrutiating, and at times i can barely walk or work. Vanessa (our chiropodist), took me to get a knee support it cost £25, however it has been a life saver and a great help.
I am secretary to 1st Hunstanton Scouts and Guides, and we need to do some major renovation work on our HQ, so to this end we have formed a Friends of 1st Hunstanton Scouts and Guides, if you would like to support us, the cost is only £5 per person, £8 per couple/family, £10 per organisation, so please email me, all help is gratefully recieved.
